Texas Hold ’em is by far the most popular poker game. But there are various other poker games that are fun and may help improve your Texas Hold ’em and overall poker game.

Omaha Poker

Omaha is a popular online poker room game and is a smaller game than Texas Hold ’em. The difference between these two poker games is that with Omaha players are dealt four cards as opposed to two with Texas Hold ’em. Players must use two of their four cards; the rule change allows for more drawing possibilities.
Omaha can be played in the format of high only or hi/low in which the highest hand shares the pot with the lowest hand.

Seven Card Stud Poker

Players post a bet to start the game. The players are then dealt one card facing down and one facing up. Depending on the lowest card players must open their hand by placing a bet or calling a check. If any player bets all other players must call, fold or raise. Each game has a maximum of four bets in each respective round with one bet and three raises.

After the first round is completed, each player is dealt another face-up card. Then the betting round begins and this time it is started with the strongest poker hand showing. Once this round is completed, the game continues the same way with each round until each player has six cards in his hand. In the final round, the seventh card is dealt face down and then there is another betting round.

Five Card Stud Poker

Similar to a seven-card stud but each player is dealt two cards that they start with. One is dealt face up and the other face down. Then there is a betting round after which another card will be dealt face up followed by another betting round. There is a fourth round with a fourth card dealt up which is a normal betting round. Lastly, there is a fifth card dealt face-up in the final round with a final betting round

Razz

Although also similar to seven-card stud poker in Razz Poker the aim is to get the lowest hand. Ace represents one is this poker game and therefore the lowest hand would be A-1-2-3-4-5.

Draw Poker Games

A very popular form of poker and quite similar to Texas Hold ’em as there is a dealer button that indicates the dealer. The player to the left of the dealer must bet a stake on a small blind. The player second to the left of the dealer stakes a big blind. Each player is then dealt five cards and then betting takes place. Each player can choose to discard none to five cards after each round and then draw a new hand. There will then be one more round of betting. The player who calls his hand must then show his hand in the final round.
